ACTIONS SPEAK #1

Good day everyone and welcome to another study from God and His Holy Word. I want to begin another topic today and encourage you to reach out and make a difference with the life you live and especially, in this devotion, with the words you speak. Our text is from the book of Hebrews chapter 12 and verses 25-29. They read as follows from the NIV;

"See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? (26) At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens." {26 Haggai 2:6}(27) The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken-- that is, created things-- so that what cannot be shaken may remain. (28) Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, (29) for our "God is a consuming fire." {29 Deut. 4:24} (NIV).

Our ACTIONS SPEAK louder than words.
Actions speak louder than words when we say things like these;

When loving others we SAY "I love you." Is it not better and greater to put action into your love.

When we have concern for those in need, do we only say, "We’ll pray for you."

"If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,’ and yet you do not give (action) them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?’" (James 2:15-16).

How about our friendship with others;
At family reunions or class reunions - "I have really missed you." "It’s so great seeing you." But little is ever done from that point.

Then comes being faithful to Christ and His church;
We might love to sing that grand old hymn, "Oh, how I love Jesus", but for some in the church, there is not enough evidence for them to be found guilty of being Christians. Attendance is only if something else does not come up, and if all in the church served as much as they, the church would soon close its doors for good.

You see, ACTIONS DO SPEAK LOUDER THAN SIMPLE WORDS.
I want to encourage you in this writing to show your faith by your works.
In our scripture text we will see three actions that speak LOUDER THAN WORDS. However, I am going to close today and allow you to look at the scripture text and study between now and our next time together. God bless and be faithful, because HE is coming back soon...
