Good day and welcome back...
Our second point as we begin today is; we see that Mercy
has an infinite value in hell.
Read again Luke 16:19-31.
This man's soul pleads for mercy. But in his physical life he has shown no
mercy! When it came to things eternal, no one was an important person, not even
his own life. He was his own worst enemy.
Who do you consider to be your enemy?
Do you give him any mercy?
Do you
pray for and seek mercy?
The mercy you show in this life will have an impact on God's mercy to you
in the next life! (James 2:13)
Does God's mercy have a value to you now?
Many treat it lightly. This is a great mistake!
Read Proverbs 1:24-29.
We should be moved by God's mercy in everything we do.
Our third point as we continue; we see there is deep
concern for those who are lost.
This man pleads for teachers for his lost family members but had no time in
his life for the lost. (Luke 16:27-28)
In this life far too many are afraid to offend, or worse are too worldly
sighted to even try. Are you trying to help any of the lost to know God? Can
you see the unseen?
In hell everyone will be a teacher wanting to save his family! I recently heard
a man say that cemeteries are filled with people who would like a second
chance.
There is no reason we cannot do what the early church did.
Acts 5:42, "Day after day, in
the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and
proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ."
When we have the same kind of faith they did, we will have the same kind of
mind and action!
The issue is not one of ability; but one of faith in The God Who Is Able!
Ephesians 3:20.
When we really believe The Holy Scriptures to be true, we will do all we
are able to persuade men; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11.
We will find the time; make the time in our schedule when we have this kind
of faith because souls are so valuable.
We will have the right priorities for our family, leading them in study of
God's Word and prayer as we prepare them for life here and life hereafter.
(Ephesians 6:4)
When we begin to have a dulled heart towards things eternal, the most powerful
impact will be on our children and future generations. They will suffer as a
result of our lack of concern and effort.
Do you not realize that your children will imitate you in your faith? What
are they seeing? What choices are you making? What is your attendance like? Are
they more interested in the things of this world than the things of the next?
Our children know X-Box games strategy more than they know God’s Word! Where will this get them?!
We face two problems in building faith in our children.
We often do not have a living, active faith in our own lives for them to
see and imitate. (James 2:18)
Then by the choices we make in our schedule we too often put our light under a
basket and hide it from those who most desperately need it.
You will know no greater sadness than to realize that you passed by the
opportunity to build a saving faith in your children and then one day meet them
in hell wishing you had done better. This may be why hell will be worse for
some. (Luke 12:47-48)
If you do not save anyone else, save your family! Ask Noah! (Hebrews 11:7)
It is easier to build a child than to repair a man.
God bless until our next time...
