Many people in our world are asking, "What's happening in our society today. Things that were once not acceptable are now becoming more and more acceptable."
The bible-based Christians believe, as The Bible says, that since Christ ascended to heaven, we are now living in "the last days." Not so surprising is the fact that The Bible predicted that Godlessness would be a part of society.
Some of the things we witness in the world today were predicted thousands of years ago.
2 Timothy 3:1-4 might sound like it was written for our 21st century lives. The Apostle Paul writes, "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--"(NIV)
Our standards of what is moral have drastically been altered by a society tainted with neglect of God and His Word. When standards change, people change.
When a society removes God from its people, we begin to think only of what is right in our own eyes. Hearts turn cold toward God and our selfish thinking becomes THE STANDARD. Romans 12:1 tells us it is our minds that need to be transformed to God's Ways, not His mind changing to our way of thinking.
Listen to the news on any station and you will find that God's values are not in the media. Violence and graphic sexual content are now, more than ever possibly, the norm as we turn on the television. Our children are being indoctrinated under the camouflage of entertainment. We are sacrificing our future and our children's future by allowing the world to train them and us.
Deuteronomy 6:5-12, "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
1And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage." (KJV)
For the sake of eternity for our children and our own lives, let's get back to what God intended and let His Word do the talking.
God bless until next time...
