Lord I Want It All

Good day to everyone and I hope this writing finds each of you doing well. For the next few weeks I want to begin a study that I did as a series of sermons. I will condense it of course for these devotions but I feel as though they all go together in thought. So God bless as we begin.

For most of us in this life we tend to want the best that life has to offer, if we can afford it. We want it all; the best car, the nicest home and the best education money can buy for ourselves and especially our children. Of these things just mentioned, and many we did not, they are all too often only the physical things of life that will eventually fade and be forgotten. There may be nothing wrong with having the best, but when it comes to the spiritual things from God, too many of us are more than comfortable sitting in the back and getting only the little scraps that fall our way. My question today to each of us is this; what does The Lord Have to Offer and what are we willing to accept?

I find as I read God's Holy Word that when The Lord gives, He gives absolutely. When He blesses, He blesses completely. When He provides to His children He in no way gives of the leftovers after others are finished, but He provides overwhelmingly.

The problem I have faced in my life is NOT how much God is willing to give, but rather how little I am willing to receive of those blessings. The Lord invites us to sit at HIS banquet table and have the blessing of eating the meal with His Family! Too often I find many of us are willing to sit on the floor and catch only those scraps that fall by the wayside. As God's children, we have been given the right to expect the best from THE GOD who loves the most. This is what the Old Testament called "The birthright".

If you would, please read the passage in Ezekiel 47:1-6 from which I will refer. In this passage, Ezekiel was caught up in a vision of what it would be like in the coming reign of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Ezekiel sees God's blessings flowing like water out of God's Holy Temple. Here God tells Ezekiel to walk out into that water, or blessings. He does, and the more he walked out into the goodness of God, the more it overwhelmed him. The scriptures say he walked out into those blessings until he was ankle deep...then loin deep...then neck deep...until he was swimming in them, totally submerged in the blessings of God. God has promised so much more than we sometimes have been willing to receive. God's children, the Church, The Body of Christ are such an important part of every generation, yet we often find we are walking on the edge, like walking on the sand of the beach, only getting our ankles wet rather than truly enjoying all the blessings of our Father. Let's begin to have the best swimming party for the cause of Christ.

As I close this writing, Jesus announced Himself as the fulfilment of this prophecy from Ezekiel. In John 10:10 He said, "1 have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly. " When it comes to the things of Christ, settle not for second best. God sent the best of heaven, so we might have the best for His Kingdom. In our next few lessons together we will discover some of the greatest blessings we can receive as well as share.

I look forward to our next time together. God Bless.
